Legal
Terms of use
Draft for review by WFNMB. Not legal advice; the Federation as data controller must approve.
These terms apply to this website, operated by the World Federation of Nuclear Medicine and Biology (WFNMB), executive office at Schmalzhofgasse 26, 1060 Vienna, Austria, office@wfnmb.org. By using the website you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.
What the website is for
The website presents the Federation, its member societies, its World Congress and its education programme to professionals in nuclear medicine and to the public. Content is provided for general and educational information.
Not medical advice
Nothing on this website is medical advice, and nothing here replaces the judgement of a qualified professional in the care of a patient. This platform is not a medical device and performs no clinical decision function. Educational material is aimed at professionals and reflects the views of its named authors and presenters, not necessarily those of the Federation.
Using the content
Text, images, video and other material on this website belong to the Federation or to the people and organisations who contributed them, and are protected by copyright. You may read, download and print material for personal, non-commercial and educational use, keeping any credit and notice intact. Any other use, including republishing, commercial use or systematic copying, needs written permission from the Federation office. Photographs are credited on the image credits page and used under the licences recorded there.
The names and logos of member societies remain the property of those societies and appear with their permission. The Federation’s name and emblem may not be used without written permission.
Links to other websites
The member directory links to each society’s own website, and the World Congress has its own website run by its organisers. Those sites have their own terms and privacy policies, and the Federation is not responsible for their content.
Accounts
When member and education accounts open, you are responsible for keeping your sign-in details private and for what is done through your account. Tell the Federation office at once if you think someone else has used it. Accounts are issued through your national society or the Federation office and may be suspended if these terms are broken.
Certificates
Where the education hub issues certificates, they are certificates of completion. They are not, by themselves, a claim to continuing professional development credit or any other accreditation. Any credit wording will appear on a certificate only where an accrediting body has recognised the activity, and the Federation will say so explicitly.
Acceptable use
Do not attempt to gain access you are not entitled to, interfere with the website’s operation, scrape or harvest data (including the member directory), or use the website to send unsolicited messages. Do not upload anything unlawful or infringing where the website lets you upload.
Availability and changes
The Federation aims to keep the website available but does not promise uninterrupted access, and may change or withdraw content at any time. These terms may be updated; the date at the foot of this page shows when they last changed.
Liability
The website is provided as it is. To the extent permitted by law, the Federation is not liable for loss arising from use of the website or reliance on its content. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Governing law
The Federation’s office is in Austria, so these terms are expected to be governed by Austrian law and EU law, with the courts of Vienna having jurisdiction. This point, like the rest of these terms, is for the Federation’s counsel to confirm.
Privacy
How personal data is handled is set out in the privacy policy and the cookie notice, which form part of these terms.
